The entrance to the garden greets you with an old boat - now filled with red begonias, lime green ipomeas and dark brown millet, all crowned by a pollarded Golden Indian bean tree. See a picture of this on the cover of the 2013 NGS Hampshire Garden Booklet. The house has a colourful selection of hanging baskets and tubs of annuals surrounding cordelines and phormiums. This is the area where visitors can sit and enjoy a cream tea, with scones or cakes.

Red begonias were also used to great effect in the hanging baskets
